Feed your cat at the same time morning and evening
Brush your cat regularly even if it is short-haired, it removes loose hair,
dust and stimulates peripheral circulation.

Provide a stimulating environment, especially if the cat is going to be alone at home.
Set up some interesting vantage points.
Scatter some toys in various places.
Get it used to its name by calling it and rewarding it when it comes. Never use its name when telling him off for unwanted behaviour.
Decide which type of owner you want to be and agree with your family on what behaviour is allowed and what is not acceptable. Every family member must stick to the same rules.
Praise and reward behaviours you want your cat to exhibit and make it clear when it does something forbidden by interrupting the behaviour firmly but without emotion. For instance, in case of biting, put the cat down and utter “No”. Always make sure your cat does not associate you or any family member with something unpleasant as it would jeopardise your future relationship.
If you intend to train your cat, you can learn about operant conditioning and clicker training. Whatever you do, remember to use only positive reinforcement.
